The situation!
Progressive talk in the city of Boston was given a tiny signal on Kiss-AM along with the indignity of horrible public service announcements, terrible advertising and no promotion from the station owner. Then, after nurturing a small but devoted audience, it flipped to a foreign language station.

THE PROBLEM WITH REVOLUTION BOSTON
One would expect John Lennon's voice to cut through the morass of Rush Cheney, Glen Limbaugh, Bill O'Beck and the other neo-cons...an exciting blast of fresh air...but so far with Jeff Santos at the helm we have a double-edged sword.
Yes, he was able to take one of the multitude of sports stations and get his voice on the air, with the problem being he seems more intent on getting his voice on the air!
This is no time to play college radio d.j. Radio in Boston needs progressive talk, and people who can gather an audience and some excitement. Ed Schultz has the sizzle, so do Keith Olbermann, Rachel Maddow, Bill Maher...but these are professionals who can deflate the vanity of a Rush Limbaugh with the truth.
Michael Moore came to Boston and it should have been a massive event for 1510 AM. But it wasn't. Capitalism 101 should have been the talk of Revolution Boston, and therein lies the problem...there's nothing compelling about the station, despite WROR and WODS going "all Christmas" on Friday the 13th in November of 2009. It's a great window of opportunity to get listeners who refuse to get force-fed "Jingle Bell Rock" six weeks before the Winter Solstice.
But here's what happened instead!

[Save_progressive_radio_boston] Message board enters a new phase
The message board for the Save Boston Progressive Talk group has now served its purpose and is being retired as a forum. It will become an information/ announcement- only message board. Information relevant to progressive talk radio, both local and national, will be posted here. We would like to thank those of you who have helped fulfill its mission.
What a bunch of egomaniacs! They stopped listening to those who supported them and helped them get where they are...and they turned the Yahoogroup into a Message Board!
This blog and a new group: Boston_Progressive_Talk@yahoo.com are going to work to IMPROVE Progressive Talk in Boston. If Jeff Santos wants to pull a George W. Bush and not hear the voices of reason that's OK, we'll lobby the advertisers that Jeff didn't get there on his own...that a couple of thousand people signed a petition, people showed up at libraries, people helped write articles. It was a team effort...a "cause" and it shouldn't be usurped by ego when the great right wing conspiracy is doing everything it can to hold onto the radio waves.
